I was tasked with illustrating a story for our magazine about Data Ethics in Education. The story largely centered on student privacy, particularly on schools’/districts’ social media accounts, so photography was out of the question. I ended up creating a collage of smartphones in the university’s primary and secondary color palette with illustrations of diverse students using different modes of technology. I added push notifications to the center phones’ screens spotlighting the magazine’s top stories.

The Table of Contents and story layout were designed by Stephanie Reagan. Royalty free artwork was found on Vecteezy and Canva and modified to fit UT branding.
