Rebekah says hi!

I'm a queer artist, storyteller, vibe curator & self-proclaimed Appalachian Angel from the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains.

I think my favorite thing about my art is that it doesn’t take itself too seriously. For that matter, neither do I! I was once described as a “wonderful calzone of sunshine,” and my inspiration comes from all things whimsical, colorful, and full of feeling.

As the founder (and sole member) of the Bleeding Hearts Brigade, I wear my big, tender heart on the outside of my body for all the world to see. I use art in all its forms as a way to process my feelings and to bring a smile to people’s faces. Perhaps most importantly, I am a recovering perfectionist learning to create art for the sake of art.

Monday through Friday, I’m a Creative Content Manager at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. I help tell the stories of the College of Education, Health & Human Sciences through words, visuals, and social media.

In my personal work, I primarily find myself playing in digital art, graphic design, and collage, at the moment. However, I can’t ever seem to stop myself from trying a new craft, so you might find anything from acrylic paintings to digital illustrations to textile art to jewelry on here. I also write from time to time, both professionally and personally, so you’ll find some of that, too.

It means the world to have you here with me on this creative journey! I hope you enjoy your time in this little digital corner of my brain. :~)
