about me

I’m a queer artist, storyteller & self-proclaimed Appalachian Angel from the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains.

I was once described as a “wonderful calzone of sunshine,” and I think that perfectly captures who I am as a person—or at least who I strive to be. My inspiration comes from all things whimsical, colorful, and full of feeling.

I think my favorite thing about my art is that it doesn’t take itself too seriously. For that matter, neither do I!

As the founder (and sole member) of the Bleeding Hearts Brigade, I wear my big, tender heart on the outside of my body for all the world to see. I use art in all its forms as a way to process my feelings, celebrate my intersecting identities as Southern Appalachian woman in the LGBTQ+ community, and bring a smile to people’s faces.

Monday through Friday, I’m a Creative Content Manager at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. I tell stories from the College of Education, Health & Human Sciences through words, visuals, and social media.

In my personal work, I primarily find myself playing in digital art/illustration, graphic design, and collage, at the moment. Although, I never can seem to stop myself from trying a new craft!

On this website, you might find anything from acrylic paintings to digital illustrations to textiles. I also write, professionally and personally, so you’ll find some of that, too.

It means the world to have you here with me on this creative journey. I hope you enjoy your time in this little digital corner of my brain!
