about me
I’m an artist, storyteller + self-proclaimed Appalachian Angel from the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains.
Someone once described me as a “wonderful calzone of sunshine,” and I think that perfectly captures who I am as a person—or at least who I strive to be. My inspiration comes from all things whimsical, colorful, and full of feeling.
Above all else, my favorite thing about my art is that it doesn’t take itself too seriously. For that matter, neither do I. :~)
I wear my big, tender heart on the outside of my body for all the world to see, using art in all its forms to process my feelings, bring a smile to people’s faces, and celebrate my intersecting identities as a Southern Appalachian woman in the LGBTQ+ community.
Monday through Friday, I work as a Creative Content Manager at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where I tell stories from the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences through words, visuals, and social media.
In my personal work, I currently find myself playing mostly in digital art/illustration, graphic design, and collage. That said, I can never seem to stop myself from trying a new craft—and you best believe I’ll master it!
On this website, you might find anything from acrylic paintings to digital illustrations to textiles. I also write, both professionally and personally, so you’ll find some of that here, too.
It truly means the world to have you here with me on this creative journey. I hope you enjoy your time in this little digital corner of my brain.
P.S. If you’d like to learn more about my professional experience and accomplishments, feel free to take a look at my résumé.
