Rebekah says hi!

I'm a queer artist, storyteller, vibe curator & self-proclaimed Appalachian Angel from the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains.

I was once described as a “wonderful calzone of sunshine,” and I think that perfectly captures who I am as a person, or at least who I strive to be. My inspiration comes from all things whimsical, colorful, and full of feeling.

As the founder (and sole member) of the Bleeding Hearts Brigade, I wear my big, tender heart on the outside of my body for all the world to see. I use art in all its forms as a way to process my feelings, celebrate and share my intersecting identities as Southern Appalachian woman in the LGBTQ+ community, and bring a smile to people’s faces.

Monday through Friday, I’m a Creative Content Manager at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. I help tell the stories of the College of Education, Health & Human Sciences through words, visuals, and social media.

In my personal work, I primarily find myself playing in digital art, graphic design, and collage, at the moment. However, I can’t ever seem to stop myself from trying a new craft.

On this website, you might find anything from acrylic paintings to digital illustrations to textiles. I also write, both professionally and personally, so you’ll find some of that, too.

It means the world to have you here with me on this creative journey! I hope you enjoy your time in this little digital corner of my brain. :~)
